Christmas arrives early for dogs

group of dog owners who meet at Kingston Park organised a Kris Kringle for their four-legged friends.

HEAVY rain failed to dampen the Christmas spirit of attendees at a Kris Kringle for dogs at Kingston Park last week.

The event was organised by a group of dog owners who have over the past year gotten to know each other from meeting at Kingston Park with their four-legged friends.

Some members thought it would be a fun idea to have a Kris Kringle for their dogs and of course a cake or two for themselves.

Ken Cugley said the event ended up with a dozen or so dogs that had a ball.

“We all got soaked but had a great day,” he said. The group is made up of locals who meet socially to demonstrate the importance of social networks of the elderly and the importance of dog walking venues for social purposes and the benefits of elderly health.
