Clifton Springs Pro-Am to honour Maddie’s Vision

December 19, 2017 BY

A CELEBRITY pro-am at Clifton Springs Golf Club next month will raise money to help find a cure for bone marrow failure.

The annual summer event is a highlight on the Bellarine’s sporting calendar and the 2018 instalment promises to be the biggest and most meaningful yet, as they partner with Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision to host “Maddie’s Day On The Purple”.

Held on January 14, all proceeds from the event will go to Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision to fund medical research to find a cure for bone marrow failure.

Maddie’s Day On The Purple will see amateur golfers and sporting stars alike converge on the seaside golf course in the hope of taking home the $11,000 cash prize.

There will also be a $10,000 cash prize awarded for a hole-in-one.

Sport stars including 2017 AFL premiership player Jack Riewoldt, Essendon footballer Brendon Goddard, pro golfer Marcus Fraser and ex-football star Corey McKernan will be teeing off in support of the event.

Families and visitors are welcome to attend a free family day held on the edge of the rolling greens, with a pop up bar and food stand serving Middle Eastern street food, mini golf for the kids, a golf clinic run by the PGA and a longest drive hitting competition for anyone to enter with a gold coin donation.

Maddie’s Vision was established by the Riewoldt family, including Maddie’s brother and former footballer Nick Riewoldt, following the tragic passing of 26-year-old Maddie Riewoldt after a five-year fight against a type of bone marrow failure called aplastic anaemia.

Maddie’s Vision has a single purpose: to bridge the gap between the need and the ability to uncover the answers that will end bone marrow failures.

Bone marrow failure is a group of life threatening conditions that are diagnosed in about five million people globally each year, with the majority of patients being young.

An online auction page is now live at cliftonspringsgolfclub.com.au/auction where you can bid for a number of valuable prizes and experiences.

Maddie’s Day On The Purple will be held at the Clifton Springs Golf Club on January 14.

The pro-am will start at 7.30am, with the family day starting at 11am.
