Coastcare movie night delves into the blue

August 15, 2018 BY

Almost 60 volunteers planted trees and shrubs in the dunes around 16W on National Tree Day.

OCEAN Grove Coastcare will host a movie night later this month featuring a film about marine conservation called Blue.

To be shown at the Piping Hot Chicken and Burger Grill on Thursday August 30, Blue is a provocative journey into the ocean realm, witnessing the critical moment in time when the marine world is on a precipice.

The free event is a great opportunity for people to connect with Ocean Grove Coastcare.

They can hear about what volunteers have been up to, upcoming events and how they can participate in local coastal conservation.

The event will also include updates on plastic free Ocean Grove, tree planting events and beach clean-ups.

Meanwhile, 58 volunteers took part in Ocean Grove Coastcare’s tree planting day, which coincided with National Tree Day, in the dunes around 16W.

With support from Barwon Coast and Rotary, volunteers planted 200 trees and shrubs and 160 grasses.

Blue will be shown at the Piping Hot Chicken Shop, The Terrace, Ocean Grove. People are welcome to join for dinner and drinks (at bar prices) from 6pm, with the film to start at 7pm. For more information, email  [email protected].
