Coastguard opens its doors for the first time

THE Queenscliff Coastguard will throw its doors open for the first time later this month to promote boating safety.

Held on November 18, the Queenscliff Coastguard open day will encourage families to come along and see displays from emergency services; vehicles and equipment up close. Also, obtain excellent advice about all aspects of boating safety from expert volunteer and professional emergency service members.

Supported by the CFA, SES, water police and highway patrol, the open day will include a sausage sizzle, tours of the coast guard facility and rescue vessel, PFD safety checks and raffles.

It will be held at the Queenscliff boat ramp in Hesse Street between 10am-3pm.
