Community acknowledges end of the war anniversary

A COMMEMORATIVE event in Queenscliff acknowledging two significant anniversaries surrounding World War I was held last week.
The Borough of Queenscliffe council’s Avenue of Honour Commemorative Event held at the former Queenscliff High School marked the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, and the 100th anniversary of the first plantings of the 1918 Avenue of Honour Trees in the narrows.
Mayor Susan Salter and councillors were in attendance, along with local school children.
