Community celebrates marine animal mural
A MURAL in Clifton Springs that aims to connect visitors to marine animals that call Port Phillip home has been officially opened.
The Clifton Springs community came together recently to celebrate the installation of the Caring For Our Bays mural at the Boat Harbour toilet block.
The project was a partnership between the City of Greater Geelong and Caring For Our Bays as part of Sustainability Victoria’s Litter Innovation Fund.
Representatives from the City of Greater Geelong, Sustainability Victoria, the Drysdale and Clifton Springs Community Association, Clifton Springs Primary School and Corangamite CMA joined the Caring For Our Bays team to welcome the colourful and educational artwork to the area.
Caring For Our Bays Coastal Coordinator Jane Shearer said the mural was a wonderfully collaborative project and it was great to see the end result being so well supported and celebrated by the community and all others involved.
The mural also aims to highlight the importance of taking rubbish home.
