Community Christmas drive for vulnerable families
ENCOMPASS Community Services will be running a food and gift drive, “Tub of Love”, to ensure local families in need will experience a magical Christmas.
Donations of non-perishable foods and treats, toys, games, books, personal hygiene items, will be warmly welcomed to take away the pressure from vulnerable families this Christmas.
Drop-off points are set up at the following locations until Monday December 14:
• Bunnings Leopold (Bellarine Highway, Leopold)
• Encompass Community Services (400 Pakington Street, Geelong)
• Discount Stationers (81 Separation Street, Bell Park)
• 94.7 Pulse FM (68-70 Little Ryrie Street, Geelong)
Encompass has been running a Christmas food and gift drive for a number of years, and due to the success of the initiative, has chosen to encourage public donations to help a larger group of vulnerable community members across Geelong and the Bellarine.
Encompass Options and Connections fundraising staff member Tracey Egan said every year, when they gave the gifts to the families, they were so appreciative of the effort and generosity their fellow community members showed to make sure they had a perfect Christmas day.
“It is important for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to work together as a community, especially during this period that for some can come with uncertainty and added pressure to provide for their families.”
Share the love this Christmas; help fill the tub by donating to the “Tub of Love” food and gift drive for Geelong community members in need.
