Community spirit alive in Grove as thousands shop up

December 20, 2017 BY

UP to 2,000 people packed into Ocean Grove’s main street for this year’s Christmas in the Grove.

Ocean Grove Business Association president Ty Simons said the event along The Terrace and surrounding shopping areas was a wonderful success, with most of the shops having specials and stalls to promote shopping locally in the town.

“There were wonderful local musicians, face painting, balloon sculpturing, free cupcakes, photo booths for all ages, hair braiding, bouncing castle, sausage sizzles, street food style offers, launches of a couple of new shops, giveaways, Santa, sunshine and a wonderful community spirit,” Mr Simons said.

“Closing the road meant that it was a safe place for all, and this is something we may do again around Easter, so watch this space.”

Mr Simons said he was very pleased with the night and hoped that everyone involved enjoyed it as much as he did.
