GENERATIONS of musicians will come together next month for an afternoon of intergenerational music and fun in Portarlington.
Shedding The Blues, a local Bellarine group with a shared passion for playing music, singing and performance, will present the Big Little Show at Parks Hall on October 12 in support of Seniors Month.
Classic tunes for the young and the young at heart will fill the hall, with grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles encouraged to bring along children to join in the playing, dancing and prancing. Everyone — young and old — will be invited to share in the fun.
Highlights include performances by Portarlington Primary School students, known as the Port Pearls, singing Eagle Rock and I Got a Friend in You with a full backing band. They’ll be joined by the Crazy Hat Band, the Nap Time Shredders and Bright and Colourful.
The afternoon will also feature children’s entertainer Dazzling Dan, who will bring a touch of magic to the stage during performance breaks.
Supported by the City of Greater Geelong, the event is part of a positive ageing initiative, offering younger audiences the chance to see their older relatives perform and celebrate together.
Entry is just $5 for those aged 15 and over, with free admission for children 14 and under.
