CRAFT shows are back after a COVID-enforced absence, and hundreds of people are expected to attend the two-day From Picture to Page and Beyond event later this month.

Dedicated crafters from across Australia will be heading to the Vines Road Community Centre in Hamlyn Heights for the first face-to-face meeting in about two years.

“We are excited to have crafters come together again to see new products, learn techniques and get together with like-minded crafters,” From Picture to Page and Beyond creative director Michelle Brown said.

”During the Lockdowns, we have successfully reached many of our crafters through our videos on Facebook and Youtube but it will be wonderful to return face-to-face craft shows again.”

The From Picture to Page and Beyond Papercraft Show is the place to learn more about card making, scrapbooking and art journaling.

The Geelong show will be held in the air-conditioned Vines Road Community Centre with 16 specialty retailers offering a wide range of activities and craft supplies to satisfy every level of paper crafter.

Activities include mini-classes where, for a small fee, materials and tools are supplied, and talented teachers take you step by step through a project.

Mini-classes run for about 30 minutes and are held throughout the weekend of the show.

There are also free demonstrations run by the retailers to inspire crafters, show how to get the most out of your supplies and answer any questions you may have.

From Picture to Page and Beyond say craft brings joy to so many across Australia and want to help the crafti feel connected and less alone.

“Many of our crafters are living alone and have not felt like crafting during the lockdowns, so to be able to come along to the craft show again will be just the therapy they need,” Ms Brown said.

Papercrafting is for all ages, too, not just fun for the children.

Refreshments and plenty of seating areas are available so you can rest and catch up with like-minded crafters over a cuppa and lunch.

The From Picture to Page and Beyond Papercraft Show will be held at Vines Road Community Centre, 37-61 Vines Road, Hamlyn Heights on July 23 from 9am-4pm and July 24 from 10am-3pm.

Entry is $12 ($15 for a two-day pass), and children under 16 have free entry.
