Creative minds invited to unwind at new Bellarine retreat
FOR those craving a creative reset, a new weekend retreat on the Bellarine Peninsula is offering the perfect blend of art, relaxation and indulgence.
The Artful Escape is a new creative workshop weekend hosted by Coastal Glamp next weekend, giving a group of 24 people an opportunity to enjoy various workshops at the picturesque Bellarine Estate Winery.
Workshops will include poetry, watercolours, resin and jewellery making, glass blowing and pottery, and will be hosted at both the winery and the Artisans of Australia gallery in Curlewis. Attendees will then stay in glamping tents, with meals also provided.
Jon Hammond, owner of Coastal Glamp, said the idea was sparked following a wellness weekend hosted earlier this month.
“We’ve got this beautiful space⦠and I thought it’d be nice to use it for something specific rather than just people coming for the weekend.
“You can stay with us in a beautiful location and then do all of these wonderful workshops and immerse yourself in all of this great creativity.”
The retreat welcomes anyone of any artistic ability, with the main focus being a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
“Obviously the facilitators who run the workshops have got experience for intermediate, beginners or even people more advanced (and) they will tailor them depending on who’s there,” Hammond added.
“It’s just a great chance to learn all these things, but also get away from it all for a weekend.”
Hammond hoped this would become an annual fixture where attendees can flourish creatively and socially.
“They’ll have learned some new creative skills, which will be fantastic.
“It’s only 24 people sharing the whole weekend together, so it’s really a chance to connect with some like-minded people.
“And just to go home relaxed, inspired and fulfilled having had a wonderful weekend.”
