GEELONG’S jobs market is set for a major boost with the arrival of the region’s newest and largest premium hotel, Crowne Plaza Geelong, opening on the waterfront in early 2026.

The landmark development will not only elevate Geelong’s tourism and business events offering, but also create more than 80 new local jobs across a wide range of departments.

Located on the city’s waterfront precinct, Crowne Plaza Geelong will feature 200 guest rooms and suites, state-of-the-art meeting and event spaces overlooking the bay, a ground-level café, a level-one restaurant and bar, a 10th-floor Skybar, fitness centre, and an indoor heated swimming pool.

The landmark development will not only elevate Geelong’s tourism and business events offering, but also create more than 80 new local jobs across a wide range of departments.

 

The hotel will become a vibrant new hub for locals and visitors alike, reinforcing Geelong’s reputation as a world-class coastal destination.

Recruitment is now under way for more than 80 roles, with opportunities ranging from front-of-house and food and beverage to culinary, housekeeping, and management positions.

Existing vacancies include food and beverage team members, bar manager – level 10 Skybar, restaurant manager, commis chefs, kitchen stewards, guest service agents, duty manager, housekeeping team members, and housekeeping supervisor.

Onboarding and training for new team members will commence in December, followed by a short break over Christmas and New Year before preparations resume for the early 2026 opening.
