Smile Care Denture Clinic is Geelong’s longest running and family-owned denture clinic, established by Neil Boyd in 1984, with his son Kurt, starting alongside him in 2006.

More recently his younger son Carl, who qualified as a dental technician in 2010, has returned to the family business after a six-year break from the industry.

The family denture clinic is now the Geelong region’s first fully digital denture clinic, with the ability to create dentures using the latest in CAD-CAM technology with 3D printing and milling, separating them from anyone else in the area.

This places them at the top of their game, not only with the latest technology and training, but genuine clinical experience of 38 and 14 years respectively.

Moving into the digital world has extended their skills to be able to treat and care for a wider range of clientele.

As well-established dental prosthetists, Neil and Kurt have had many happy denture wearing patients.

We treat the general public and Veteran Affairs Gold Card holders direct, for removable dentures with no need for referrals, as well as Victorian Denture Scheme voucher holders.

Neil is in his 50th year in the dental industry and has been a dental prosthetist for over 38 years.

Of those years Neil has travelled around the world expanding his knowledge, learning different techniques and procedures, to be able to deliver the best possible results to his patients.

Neil made huge changes to his clinical and laboratory techniques in 2004, which gave much better results than using the old techniques used in most clinics.

After nearly 50 years in the dental field, Neil has been absolutely amazed at the latest technology of digital dentistry.

Neil and Kurt have put a lot of research into the new technology, attending training courses and information sessions for the past 3 years, finally deciding it is now time to move even further into the future.

As no two mouths are the same, the digital dental software gives us the ability to create every tooth individually, with different characteristics to suit different patients’ needs.

The aim of being able to mill dentures, is to give patients the most superior fitting and most functional dentures currently available and making dentures look more like patients own natural teeth.

With our new digital technology, it allows us to reduce the number of appointments required for new dentures, with shorter turnaround times for patients.

The clinic is situated in leafy tree-lined Pakington Street located in Geelong West. Once entering the clinic, all of the latest in technology is on display allowing you to see the 3D printers and milling machine in action while you wait.
