Doctor braves the shave for kids
LAKE IMAGING is encouraging the local community to throw their support behind one of their own radiologists who will be shaving his head to raise much needed funds for children’s cancer charity, Canteen.
Tomorrow (Saturday, November 4), Dr Tony Chen will be embracing the shave in front of a live crowd at the Geelong Yacht Club from 9am and in front of more than 20,000 people via livestream.
The cancer medical imaging (Nuclear Medicine and Oncology) specialist has a fundraising goal of $100,000 for the campaign.
All funds raised will go towards supporting more children with cancer and their families within the local community.
In a statement on his fundraising page, Dr Chen said he was proud to be standing up to cancer with Canteen.
“This year I will be donating my time, money and dignity to Canteen, a wonderful organisation that helps young people with cancer.
“I will be shaving my head in front of a live crowd at Eastern Beach in Geelong on Saturday 4th November, and in front of more than 20,000 doctors on livestream.
“We have a huge goal, but I think it’s possible. So let’s go!”
