Double your impact this giving season
The Meli Giving Tree Appeal raises vital funds to support local children, families and individuals during what can be a challenging time of year.
THE Meli Giving Tree Appeal is in its final stretch, but there’s still time to share kindness and bring hope to those facing hardship this festive season.
Running until December 9, the appeal – delivered in partnership with The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre – raises vital funds to support local children, families and individuals during what can be a challenging time of year.
Now celebrating its 25th year, the Giving Tree Appeal has grown from a simple toy drive into a powerful community movement that provides dignity, choice and hope to thousands of people annually.
Instead of physical gifts, donations are distributed as gift cards, giving recipients the freedom to choose what matters most – whether it’s presents under the tree, food on the table, or fuel to visit loved ones.
Last year, the campaign raised $110,000, supporting more than 2,300 families and individuals across the region.
For local mum Emma, the Giving Tree Appeal was a lifeline.

“Receiving this support meant my four children could still wake up on Christmas morning and see gifts under the tree. I’m forever grateful,” she said.
“The flexibility of the cards, which could be used across multiple stores, made a real difference and helped ease some of the stress I was carrying.”
This year, the final day of the appeal promises to make an even bigger impact. Thanks to the generosity of the Giving Tree Partners – Anthony Costa Foundation, APCO Foundation, West Carr & Harvey and GMHBA – every donation made on Tuesday, December 9 will be doubled.
Your gift can go twice as far in bringing joy and hope to local families.
