Drysdale death under investigation
Police are investigating after an 80-year-old man died in hospital following an alleged assault at a Drysdale property earlier this month.
An alleged assault at a Drysdale property earlier this month has become a homicide investigation after an 80-year-old man died in hospital.
Emergency services were called to a home on Murradoc Road at about 11.20am on Sunday 10 May, following reports of an altercation between two men.
The older man suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where he died on Tuesday.
A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene and later released while investigations continue.
Police believe the two men were known to each other and say they are not searching for anyone else in connection with the incident.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.
