Duck race floats back to the surface this Easter

March 25, 2021 BY

The ducks will be tipped off the pedestrian bridge at Barwon Heads on Easter Saturday.

A QUACKING good time will again take place in Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove this Easter, with the Great Barwon Heads Duck Race to bob along the river in 2021.

The fun-filled family event will help raise money for the Rotary Club of Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads Primary School, Barwon Heads Scouts and the Barwon Heads Association.

The Rotary Club of Ocean Grove is organising this year’s Duck Race, and says the race’s return is by popular demand.

On Easter Saturday (April 3), hundreds of individually numbered ducks will be tipped en masse off the Barwon Heads pedestrian bridge at about 1.30pm, and will float down the Barwon River towards the finish line at the Ozone Jetty, with the first 10 ducks to cross the line declared winners.

Prizes on offer included golfing packages, wine hampers, vouchers for food and wine, hairdressing, petrol vouchers and much more.

Duck numbers are $10, and are being sold at several locations across Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove or can be purchased online via Eventbrite.

For tickets, head to eventbrite.com.au and search “Great Barwon Heads Duck Race”.
