December 12, 2017 BY

THE company which operates At The Heads in Barwon Heads has been awarded a 21-year lease to operate the Dunes Café at Ocean Grove.

Following a competitive tender process, Barwon Coast Committee of Management announced Short Game Pty Ltd as the new operators of the cafe at the soon to be redeveloped Ocean Grove Surf Beach Complex.

Barwon Coast general manager Gary McPike said the keenly contested tender attracted state-wide interest, including several local existing business owners currently operating hospitality businesses in the Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads area.

“Short Game Pty provided the tender evaluation panel with a clear leading tender and were consequently recommended to the tender committee,” Mr McPike said.

“In comparing the financial offer and overall capability and experience of each submission, the tender committee found that Short Game offered the superior tender with respect to both the financial and overall non-financial, vision, capability and service provision.”

Mr McPike said the timing of the tender allowed Short Game to have direct input into the detailed design phase of the project development, allowing the business to adapt the new premises to suit its needs.

“Barwon Coast looks forward to a successful relationship with Short Game over the years to come, confident that their depth of hospitality experience and event management will provide optimal service to their clients and the best possible financial returnto all Victorians,” he said.

Barwon Coast thanked the outgoing lessees for their years of service to the local community and visitors to the popular premises.
