Leopold resident Josh Robins and wife Jodie, middle, with young families keen to see a high school built in the town.

LEOPOLD parents will have the chance to learn more about education options for their children during a community forum next week.

With support from the Department of Education and Training (DET) and Newcomb Secondary College, the Leopold Education Provision Information Forum will be held on Tuesday September 11.

Area Executive Director of Barwon DET Catriona Salt and Newcomb Secondary College Principal Phil Honeywell will speak at the forum and answer questions.

Organiser Josh Robins said the forum would provide parents and residents with an opportunity to learn more about government school education provision and planning for the Leopold community.

“Parents will have the chance to ask questions on all aspects of education varying from primary and secondary,” Mr Robins said.

The forum comes after members of the Leopold community voiced their concerns over a lack of secondary school options across the Bellarine and Geelong region, due to them being at near capacity.

“I encourage all members of the community to come along in support of this forum, which will offer an understanding of what education is available,” he said.

Ms Salt will also be available to talk with parents and answer any questions regarding primary school education for Leopold.

The Leopold Education Provision Information Forum will be held at Newcomb Secondary College from 7pm.
