Elaine farewell
THE 10-year tenure of outgoing G21 – Geelong Region Alliance chief executive Elaine Carbines was celebrated with a gathering at Clyde Park Vineyard on Tuesday last week.
About 85 people gathered at the picturesque Bannockburn venue to share a toast to Ms Carbines and the integral role she has played in the growth and success of the organisation during the past decade.
Wadawurrung woman Corrina Eccles conducted a Welcome to Country and Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners, while speakers included emcee Lenny Jenner, former G21 chair Bill Mithen, Elaine’s husband Shane Carbines and Diplomacy’s Adam Kilgour who read a message from former Victorian Premier Steve Bracks AC.
Ms Carbines reflected fondly on her time with G21 before her executive assistant of almost nine years, Nada Malinac, proposed a toast.
Guests then enjoyed drinks, nibbles and a celebratory cake which was supplied by Clyde Park.
It has since been announced that Giulia Baggio will take over as CEO in the new year.
