EVENTS Geelong recently launched Virtual Events to provide people with an alternate way to enjoy new experiences even while in lockdown.

The events themselves vary greatly in their theme and delivery.

Among the different types of events are the virtual tours. One such tour presently running is Anakie-based artist Yan Huang’s Daydream exhibition. Huang’s unique installation looks to show the relationship between environment and mental wellbeing.

Further expanding people’s imagination is the Creative Connections Webinar Series. The series will see different industry experts deliver virtual seminars on different topics and themes in the arts.

There are also events relating to the challenges caused by the coronavirus the webinar series Managing Mental Health Challenges and Applying Self-Care Strategies or the Taking our Business Online – What You Need to Know workshop to be delivered via Zoom.

Virtual Events also includes various downloadable activity sheets on the site to keep children occupied.

Geelong Arts Centre has also made the transition to holding online events.

Tonight (Thursday, April 9) at 8pm people can head to geelongartscentre.org.au to view the livestream of An Evening with Michaela Burger.
