Experiencing new things, exploring their world, and encountering the joys and challenges of learning: these are the things our children do every day as they are building the memories and discovering their unique place in our world, and the Torquay Early Learning Centre (TeLC) is a great environment for this growth to flourish.

Established in 2013 as a not-for-profit centre in the heart of Torquay, TeLC deliberately created a place where children can learn by exploring and discovering through play.

“At TeLC, we like to incorporate our extensive onsite natural surroundings into our daily programs,” assistant director Tash Cameron said.

“Our educators intentionally build on the children’s interests when planning to provide content and experiences which are fun, engage the children in an interactive way, and that is also well founded educationally so that it is effective in nurturing and guiding all aspects of a child’s development.

“We love our local community and our location within Torquay gives us great accessibility to visit places such as the local library, fire station, Elouera Aged care and also our local schools to start to build that familiarity for the children as part of our desire to see them become life-long learners.”

TeLC offers long day care from six weeks to pre-school, plus hosts an integrated four-year old funded kindergarten program with TeLC’s own Early Childhood Teacher.

“Being owned and operated by a non-profit association set up and headquartered right here in Torquay ensures our focus can be on the quality of our service and staff as we meet our aim of enriching the lives of families in our own Surf Coast community,” committee member Chris Rowney said.

TeLC welcomes all enquiries, and places are now available.
