CELEBRATIONS will be in full swing on Saturday (January 11) as Cottage by the Sea celebrate 135 years of enriching young lives at its Annual Fair.

The popular community event will be held at 29 Flinders Street, Queenscliff from 9am to 2pm.

The Annual Fair is the cottage’s longest running fundraiser, and dates to 1910.

It will feature a range of different stalls, a pop-up market selling woodwork and sculptures from Cottage supporter Darren Allbutt, jewellery, pots and plants donated by Van Loon’s Nursery, clothing and second-hand books.

All funds raised will go directly toward supporting the Cottage’s children’s programs.

Cottage by the Sea chief executive officer Adam Wake said it was sure to be an amazing day out for all involved.

Thousands of people are expected to come through the gates at Cottage by the Sea on Saturday.

“135 years ago, this charity was created to enhance the lives of children in need. Our mission, unchanged throughout this entire period, has given so many children the opportunity to benefit from fresh seaside air, clear blue skies, invigorating saltwater and so much more.

“Our Annual Fair is a testament to the enduring power of community. Our charity has relied on our community’s support until now and will continue to into the next century.”

Entry to the event is by donation.
