THE Falls Festival is on the move again, with planning delays forcing organisers to relocate the three-day music festival from its proposed new home near Birregurra to the centre of Melbourne.

Announced on the official Falls Festival Facebook page this morning, Falls Festival Downtown Melbourne at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl will have the same lineup of artists and the same December 29-31 timeframe as the original 2022 event, which was to be held for the first time at Pennyroyal Plains in Murroon after its departure from Lorne after 27 years.

“After a delay in securing Birregurra as a new location for Falls in Victoria, due to a small group of objectors launching an appeal against the council approval that won’t be determined until early 2023, this doesn’t mean you miss out!” organisers wrote.

“The show must go on, so we are relocating Falls Festival to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl & surrounds with two stages, Club Falls, Rancho Relaxo, Multi Bars, Food Trucks and more.

“We can’t wait to ring in the New Year with you!”

Dates will stay the same, as will the lineup, which features artists including British rockers Arctic Monkeys, Grammy nominated artist Lil Nas X and beatmaker and producer Jamie xx,

Tickets for the Birregurra location will be valid for Falls Downtown Melbourne, and all camping tickets will be automatically refunded from September 29.
