Fashion for a Cause to hit the runway
Nearly 20 models will strut their stuff on the runway, representing five different clothing businesses, as they celebrate style, empowerment, and community.
The annual event is organised by the Bellarine Boss Babes, comprising Sarah Donaldson from Beauty Queen Face and Body, Complete Face Cosmetics’ Jessica McKenzie and Tarryn Stanley from Ocean Rental Boutique.
Ms Donaldson said this would be the third year of the Fashion for a Cause event and while although a fundraiser, the event is also about showing support.

“It’s about being part of a local community incentives and it’s about women supporting women and women in business and just having a fun day.”
This year’s fashion show will raise money and awareness for the Empowerment Challenge Geelong, an organisation working to reduce issues around parenting difficulties and struggles.
“They’re doing wonderful things for the Bellarine, and we wanted to help support them as much as we can,” Ms Donaldson said.
“One of the girls from the Empowerment Challenge will get up and discuss the ins and outs of their charity.”

Off the runway, the event will also include live entertainment from local musician and The Voice contestant Cookie Robinson, silent auction items, lucky door prizes and more.
Last year’s event raised around $17,000 for a dog shelter rescuing strays in Bali, with event organisers hoping this year’s fundraising efforts will accrue a similar figure.
The event will be held at the Barwon Heads Hall, starting at 3pm.
