FC Leopold girls’ team kicks off

FC LEOPOLD fielded a girls under 9s team at the weekend for the first time.

The club has been striving to have a team in every age category, and after fielding a senior women’s team this year for the first time, were keen to promote female soccer as much as possible.

The community’s response has been brilliant with a 50 per cent growth overall in Miniroos and 75 per cent growth of females.

It was a momentous day and fittingly the girls played Surfcoast, who have been fantastic throughout their history in their female participation – a feat that FC Leopold would love to emulate.
