FC Leopold went pink at the weekend – from pink lines to pink balls, face paint, temporary tattoos and of course pink socks.
The club’s “Pink Sock Day” on Saturday came after a “Girls’ Night In” last week where junior girls brought a friend to have a fun soccer session followed by pizza.
Cath Sattler from FC Leopold said the club wanted to celebrate the females in the club, the players, the administrators and used round 18 as a celebration, as well as the opportunity to raise some funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia.
“We are close to $500 so far with more money coming in,” Sattler said.
“All the female teams wore pink socks, starting with the under 12s, then the senior women and even at half time in the seniors game, the under 9 girls had a short half time game too.”
Sattler said for any junior girls keen to have a go at soccer, keep an eye on the main FC Leopold and Junior Facebook pages.
“We look forward to announcing some fun term 4 sessions soon for all our junior players,” she said.
