THE QUEENSCLIFFE Literary Festival (QLF) is seeking new ideas and new committee members ahead of its milestone 10th year in 2024.

QLF president Pauline Nunan is encouraging literary enthusiasts to consider joining a fun, successful, diverse, and exciting group of people to bring one of Queenscliff’s biggest events to life next year.

“We’d love to see as many people putting their hands up as possible to bring one of our biggest festivals to life,” Ms Nunan said.

“The committee is very supportive of each other, as is the community as well.

“It’s work that comes with great satisfaction being a part of the committee, but it is also work that occurs almost all-year round.”

The QLF committee is looking for general committee members as well as new members with specific skills in areas such as finance, grants, and administration.

Ms Nunan listed other beneficial skills to have include adopting digital apps and software, Microsoft Excel, database management, written and verbal communication, customer care, and working to a timeline.

The QLF, first held in 2015, is an annual, not-for-profit, local festival that occurs in the first half of each year.

Committee meetings occur in-person on a monthly basis generally lasting 90 minutes.

Ms Nunan has been on the committee for four years, taking over as president from Mary-Lou Gilbert.

She says the 10th year of the QLF is going to be a massive year with final dates still to be confirmed, but typically held over three weekends.

“It’s going to be a special year in 2024, but we don’t have the specifics ironed out at the moment given we are also on the lookout for a new program director,” Ms Nunan said.

“People who have the enthusiasm to join us this year can also look forward to being a part of what will possibly be our biggest event yet.”
