HEALTH Balance Geelong will roll out the yoga mats next month when Serenity in the Stadium returns to GMHBA Stadium in support of World Mental Health Day.
The Newtown business, which offers osteopathy, acupuncture and Chinese medicine services, will champion wellbeing as a team, with more than 10 staff members expected to take part. Now in its second year, Serenity in the Stadium will be held on October 19 with the aim of bringing the community together to share in the joy of movement and spread awareness about the importance of mental wellbeing.
More than 250 people are expected participate in the event, which will feature a one-hour guided yoga session, led by Wonder Yoga instructor Sally Ferris, as the sun rises over the stands. The event is an initiative of mental health literacy organisation Read The Play and community participation project Active Geelong, with all proceeds from the event to support their work in the Geelong community.
Health Balance Geelong acupuncturist Nick Conte said his team were proud to be supporting the event for a second consecutive year.
“Last year was just brilliant and we were overawed by the energy in the stadium and the number of people in attendance.
“Mental health is something we need to continue to talk about and focus on.

“The taboo or secrecy around mental health needs to stop and it needs to be talked about just like any illness. It’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of, and people should feel comfortable enough to get the support they need.”
Read The Play general manager Michelle Gerdtz said the support of businesses, like Health Balance Geelong, sends a strong message that mental wellbeing matters, not just in the workplace, but across the community.
“It’s been incredible to see so many local businesses getting behind the event,” she said.
“Serenity in the Stadium is more than just yoga, it’s a shared moment that helps teams connect, recharge, and foster a genuine sense of belonging.
“When businesses show up together, they’re making wellbeing a visible priority and that’s something worth celebrating.”
Serenity in the Stadium is open to yogis of all ages and experience levels.
