First Glamping Fiesta proves a hit

June 27, 2018 BY

About 40 campers took part in the first Glamping Fiesta at the Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park.

THE Great Ocean Road Coast Committee will make glamping in Lorne an annual night out, following a successful initial sold-out hosting of 40 campers over the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

With fire pits, music, films, wine, gourmet meals, and camping in the comfort of luxury bell tents courtesy of Twilight Glamping, the Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park was the place to be as guests gathered together to enjoy the mild winter weather at the Glamping Fiesta.

GORCC chair Ken Northwood said the organisation was delighted with the results and looking at new ways to drive winter trade.

“It was a great weekend and we were delighted to work in partnership with local traders and look at new ways to attract people to the coast during winter.

“Like all of our commercial operations, all proceeds from the weekend get reinvested back into the coast, caravan park and community.”

Mr Northwood said food and wine for the weekend was all locally sourced, with the Swing Bridge Café putting on a gourmet barbecue, including a range of locally sourced meats and salads.

“Due to popular demand, we will make this an annual offer at Lorne.”

GORCC directly manages three caravan parks, and has coming experience packages planned for the Anglesea Family Caravan Park and Torquay Foreshore Caravan Park
