Free outdoor movie at the Waterfront
A FAMILY movie is being screened at Steampacket Gardens on the Geelong Waterfront for free tomorrow (Friday, December 14). Family favourite Cars and Christmas movie Mickey’s Magical Christmas will be screened tomorrow from 6.30pm.
People can bring a picnic or grab a bite to eat from traders and settle in on the grass for the films. Special pre-entertainment from the Mik Maks as well as craft activities and face painting are scheduled for 5.30pm prior to the screening of Mickey’s Magical Christmas.
City of Greater Geelong mayor Bruce Harwood said this was a great chance for the community to celebrate Christmas in a fun and relaxed, familyfriendly setting on our beautiful waterfront.
“There will be lots of other activities for kids, including craft, face painting and live music,” Cr Harwood said.
“And don’t forget our famous floating Christmas tree right nearby, with its spectacular light show every 15 minutes from 8.30pm.”
The screening, organised by the City of Greater Geelong and the city’s youth volunteer group Fluke, follow previous free movie showings at both Steampacket Gardens and the Little Malop Street precinct.
The outdoor movie screenings add to the extensive Central Geelong Christmas program, headlined with the nightly floating Christmas tree light show on the Waterfront.
