Free workshop for women considering role in government

August 22, 2019 BY

A FREE workshop for women considering running for local government will be held later this month.
Local Government 101 in partnership with WILD (Women in Local Democracy) will host the event at Geelong City Hall on August 29.
What do councils do? What is the role of a councillor? How do I become a candidate and how do I get elected?
If you have ever asked yourself these questions, or if you need to know more before you take the leap and decide to run, this free and informative workshop is for you.
Women across the state – just like you – have a significant contribution to make to public life. Your connections to community, your skills and your unique perspective mean you are rich with potential to be a great local councillor.
The workshop will run between 6pm and 8pm.
