Geelong and District win three interleague thrillers

GEELONG and District defeated Colac and District 11.13 (79) to 10.12 (72) in their 25-and-under interleague football match at Winchelsea’s Eastern Reserve on Monday this week.

Captain Toby Bennett (Corio) was awarded the Daryl Jones Medal for being the Raiders’ best as voted by the commentary team.

The interleague medals, which are voted on by the opposing teams, went to the GDFNL’s Oscar Barter (Anakie) and the CDFNL’s Mitch Thornton.

The GDFNL also won the A Grade netball, defeating Colac and District 49-42.

Belmont Lions’ Ella Wasik was awarded the inaugural Justine Radford Medal, while Lorne’s Leigh Potter was the CDFNL’s best on court.
