The Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine team celebrates its wins – gold, silver and bronze.

TOURISM Greater Geelong and The Bellarine have come home with a trifecta of awards from the prestigious RACV Victorian Tourism Awards held last week.

Held at Crown Palladium in front of around 1000 esteemed operators and professionals, Business Events Geelong took out Gold for Destination Marketing, their Industry Development program took out silver for Tourism Education and Training and the Visitor Information team took out bronze for Visitor Information Services.

It was the first time Business Events Geelong had entered the Destination Marketing category and the team are thrilled to take out the top honour. Business Events Geelong (BEGeelong) acts as the Convention Bureau for the Greater Geelong and The Bellarine region.

BEGeelong work in partnership with Greater Geelong and The Bellarine member businesses to facilitate growth across the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) industry sectors through marketing, strong relationships, industry development and quality servicing.

Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine Executive Director Roger Grant said he was proud of the achievements of the Business Events Geelong.

“There was some strong competition in this category and it’s a testament to the hard work and commitment of the team, headed up by Mark Day and Brooke Jaworski, and their dedication to showcasing Geelong and The Bellarine as the prime place to hold events and conferences,” Mr Grant said.
