Geelong gigs announced for Always Live

THE Always Live program of events is returning for a third year, with the statewide celebration of contemporary live music set to take over Victoria from November 22 to December 8.

This year’s program includes an array of free and low-cost events and puts grassroots and regional venues centre stage, hosting everything from one-off shows and underplays to podcasts, conversations, and workshops.

Always Live and the Bush Music Fund will present Ripple Effect with Amos Roach at the Murran First Nations Hub, Geelong on November 25.

In partnership with Australia’s youth music organisation The Push and triple j Unearthed,

Always Live will deliver a huge regional series through The Push All-Ages Tour. Dates will include performances from DICE and Good Sniff at Geelong West Town Hall on November 29.

On November 30 in Geelong, Always Live at the Barwon Club will feature Baraka The Kid, Wild Gloriosa, Ridzyray, Daisy Kilbourne and Manny Lado.

In partnership with Jamaican Music and Food Festival, Jamaican artists Anthony B and DJ Banna and special guests will perform at the Barwon Club in South Geelong on December 4.

Headline acts across the Always Live festival include Italian-American DJ and producer Anyma at Flemington Racecourse, Tina Arena at Mornington Racecourse for the 30th anniversary of her hit album Don’t Ask, The White Stripes’ Jack White at Ballarat’s Civic Hall and the Corner Hotel in Richmond, and punk rock legends The Offspring at Forum Theatre.

“This year’s Always Live program not only reinforces our status as the music capital of Australia but brings an extraordinary array of unique and exclusive experiences to audiences across the state,” Always Live chair Matt Gudinski said.
