Geelong roads close to welcome Christmas

ROAD closures will be in effect around Geelong tomorrow (Saturday, November 22) night as the City of Greater Geelong begins its Christmas celebrations.

Thousands of people are expected in the city for Carols by the Bay and the lighting of the Floating Christmas Tree.

Road closures will be in place from 6pm until 10.30pm on Western Beach and Eastern Beach roads between Cunningham Street and Yarra Street and along Moorabool Street between Brougham Street and Eastern Beach Road.

During this time, there will be no access to the Novotel, Edgewater Apartments and Pier Point Apartments- Eastern Beach Road driveway.

Emergency access will be maintained throughout the entirety of the event.

There is accessible parking on the east side of Cunningham Pier forecourt car park and the Western Foreshore car park will remain open.

Westfield’s ground level car park entry will remain open via Brougham Street until 8pm and close strictly at 10.30pm.
