Geelong Small Business Festival approaches

July 16, 2020 BY

THE Geelong Small Business Festival will return in 2020 to help teach existing and prospective business owners how to thrive in the current environment.

The festival will run from September 1 through to September 18.

Cr Kylie Grzybek said while this year’s festival would be run differently to previous editions, it would still offer plenty to local businesses.

“We know this year’s Festival will look a bit different, it will still provide opportunities for local businesses to connect, collaborate, and expand their networks.

“We have a wealth of business knowledge and expertise across Greater Geelong, Bellarine, and Surf Coast regions, and the festival presents a great opportunity to combine and share that knowledge locally.”

The festival is still accepting expressions of interest from businesses and business experts to host events.

The themes the festival is focusing on this year are business essentials post coronavirus; marketing, sales and promoting your businesses online; starting a business; growing your business and expanding your networks; career development, leading and managing people; and health and wellbeing.

Ms Grzybek said the festival organisers were hoping to be guided by the knowledge of the businesses in the region.

“We’re eager to hear event ideas that deliver essential information, inspiration, or valuable resources for motivated entrepreneurs or businesspeople.

“Hosting a Geelong Small Business Festival event is a great way to build your profile, reputation, and connect with other businesspeople.”

Expressions of interest for hosts are open until 5pm tomorrow (Friday, July 17).
