Geelong Women’s Business Club founder Merrin Schnabel is excited to host the group’s first networking event of the year.

EMPOWERING women to harness their strengths and find their voice will be at the heart of an upcoming Geelong women in business event.

Successful businesswoman and social media influencer, Emma Hawkins, will be the headline guest at the first Geelong Women’s Business Club (GWBC) event for 2021.

Special guest for the event, Emma Hawkins.

Tickets are now on sale for the February 27 gathering which will also feature Allira Potter and Nicky Buckley as part of a Q&A panel.

GWBC founder Merrin Schnabel said the club was all about bringing like-minded women together to network, support each other, collaborate and walk away feeling inspired.

She said the first event of the year, being held at Capri Receptions, had already enjoyed an overwhelming response in terms of ticket sales.

“The theme – ‘Harness Your Power, Find Your Voice’ – is just going to be so magical, as I know the women will gain so much wisdom and insight from this,” Ms Schnabel said.

“It’s every woman’s birthright to step into their power and find their voice, shine their light in both personal and business life.”

Nicky Buckley joins the Q&A panel.

She said the coming event would also act as a fundraiser for Geelong Mums, with a portion of ticket sales going to the local charity and donations able to be made on the day.

The event will also include a business hub showcasing eight local businesses, music by Alex Pye, goodie bags, a beauty bar by makeup artist, Sarah Taggert, and catering by Capri.

GWBC event and campaign manager, Jayde Heywood, said the afternoon was an ideal opportunity to hear from others who have navigated their way through hardships and successes during their business journey.

She said the event would also discuss how some businesses had pivoted to cope and thrive during the pandemic, as well as inspiring attendees who may be feeling a little lost and in need of motivation or a new direction.

Panel member Allira Potter will share her thoughts.

“We have a wonderful line-up of guests who have each experienced their own hardships when it comes to business, personal and lifestyle changes,” Ms Heywood said.

“We want the women attending this event to understand that they aren’t alone and there are different ways to navigate through tough times.

“We also want attendees to leave feeling elated, supported, motivated and ready to take on 2021.”

The GWBC event will be held at Capri receptions in Geelong on Saturday, February 27, from 1pm until 5pm.

Early bird tickets can be purchased for $99 until Monday, February 15, at trybooking.com/BNYCW. Tickets sales close on February 22.
