Giddy up to help Cottage by the Sea
QUEENSCLIFF children’s charity Cottage by the Sea are inviting the community to come together for an afternoon of inspiration and fun at its annual race day.
The Roderick Insurance Cottage of the Sea Race Day will be held on Friday, August 9 in the Silks Room at the Geelong Racing Club.
The event will raise vital funds to support and enhance the lives of some of Victoria’s most disadvantaged children and families.
Cottage by the Sea chief executive officer Adam Wake will provide a brief overview as to what’s been happening within the organisation, as well as some exciting projects in the pipeline.
Mr Wake said the cottage was experiencing all-time high demand, with more than 1,700 children participating in their programs during the 2023-24 Financial Year.
It is reported there are 216,000 children in Victoria alone living in “significant economic disadvantage”.
“Through these challenging economic times, we are reluctant to change anything that we offer through our truly amazing programs at Cottage which we know through inspiration, fun and opportunity help children and families, only we would like to reach more,” Mr Wake said.
“The event will help more children have these life-changing experiences on our programs.”
Tickets for the event are $200 a head, and $2,000 for a table of 10.
