A QUEENSCLIFF children’s charity is hoping community generosity will shine bright on its annual giving day next month.

Cottage by the Sea will be hosting a Giving Day on March 4 to help support the delivery of its programs.

All funds raised will go towards providing more inspiration, fun and opportunity for young people within a holiday environment.

Cottage by the Sea chief executive officer Adam Wake said more than 1,700 people benefited from the charity’s programs during the 2023-24 financial year.

“This year – our 135th year of operation – it is crucial that we reach as many children as we can on our programs, but we need the generosity of our community to make it possible.

“Our young people are finding it tough. We are experiencing a shift in how children present at Cottage – a definite increase in those who need additional support.”

From 9am to 9pm on March 4 all donations will be double by matching donors.
