GLASSWARE of all shapes, sizes, and forms were on full display for the Bellarine to see, as the Festival of Glass Expo returned to the region for a 13th year.

Expo convenor and Festival of Glass Incorporated committee member Mercedes Drummond said it was a blast to have the expo return to Drysdale in its full form, following three years of restrictions.

More than 500 people attended this year’s Festival of Glass Expo.

“All the exhibitors were very, very happy with how the day went, while the public really enjoyed the range of exhibits there were on display,” Ms Drummond said.

“As a committee, we are really pleased with how the day went as a whole.”

Over 20 exhibitors had their designs on display at the Eversley Street Community Hub throughout the day, with over 500 people walking through the doors to peruse the works of professional and amateur glass artists.

The public also enjoyed the expo’s new puzzle trail, a new digital activity added to the event line-up this year.

City of Greater Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan launching the expo on Sunday.

“There were several reasons why some exhibitors could not make it to the expo this year, but it was fantastic to have other glass artists back in the region from all over the state once again,” Ms Drummond said.

“The use of our new trail app, which was launched by Mayor Trent Sullivan, will also provide a huge amount of foot traffic in the future with the trail passing through numerous businesses in town.

“We’ve already spoken to the owners of local café Care Zoo, and they said they were just flat out with people the whole day.”
