“Glimpse the Gift of Diversity” is the theme for this year’s Sacrededge Festival at Queenscliff, which was officially launched last week. Sacrededge builds community among and with First Nations People, Refugees, the LGBTIQ community, the earth and nurtures a spirituality of diversity and wellbeing. From May 4-6, the festival will welcome artists and musicians such as Namila Benson, who is the producer for Life Matters on Radio National and is passionate about inclusion of diverse race, ability and gender. The festival will also feature Peter Waples Crow, an artist and Stolen Generation gay man who now works at the Victorian AIDS Council; and Para Paheer, who has a heartbreaking story of fleeing Sri Lanka, will talk with his co-author Ali Corke about the Power of Good People. This community festival is in its fifth year and there is just one week for you to get your stage 2 early bird tickets at unitingqueenscliff.org.au. If you would like to volunteer, phone Louise on 0433 462 212 or email [email protected].
