THE Clifton Springs Golf Club has again invited sports clubs and community groups to apply for one of its grants.

The annual Community Contribution Funding (CCF) program aims to assist, develop, promote, advance and encourage all sports clubs and community activities in Clifton Springs and Drysdale as well as the surrounding districts and towns.

Eligible groups are invited to apply for a CCF grant of up to $10,510.

Clifton Springs Golf Club general manager Danny Zernich said the program proudly supported the smaller clubs in the area and provided eligible organisations with the opportunity to support existing programs or fast-track facility improvements.

“We were able to provide funding to six community groups in 2021 and look forward to receiving applications for the 2022 fund,” Mr Zernich said

Last year, the CCF program provided support to the Clifton Springs Community Men’s Shed, to assist in the construction of the Men’s Shed, while also supporting the Wallington Cricket Club with the purchase of uniforms for their newly formed Women’s cricket team.

Other local clubs received support to upgrade facilities for their members.

Eligible applicants will:

Be locally-based and demonstrate direct benefit to residents of the Clifton Springs/Drysdale and surrounding districts and towns

Be incorporated if applying for $1,000 or more

Demonstrate their contribution towards the project in the form of cash, voluntary services or in-kind support, and

Address demonstrated sporting and community need.

Clifton Springs Golf Club is noted for its community-minded spirit and hosts the annual Maddie’s Day on the Purple celebrity pro-am, which raises money for Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, a charity set up to help research bone marrow failure syndrome that claimed Maddie’s life in 2015.

Full guidelines for the Clifton Springs Golf Club CCF and an application form are available online at cliftonspringsgolfclub.com.au.

Applications close on June 24, while the successful applicants will be advised on June 30.
