Golf day chips in for the Demons
PLAYERS took to the fairways, greens and bunkers of Portarlington Golf Club on Friday last week in a fundraiser for the town’s football and netball club.
The Coastyle Building Solutions Corporate Golf Day was run for the benefit of the Portarlington Demons, and attracted a field of 108 players in 27 groups.
The four-person Ambrose event had a 9am shotgun start, with entries accepted for women’s, men’s and mixed teams, and raised more than $10,000 for the Portarlington FNC, including a $500 donation to Will’s Wish.
Prizes were awarded for first place (PC Mobile Welding), second place and NAGA, as well as for nearest the pin and longest drive.
Former Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh was the speaker at the lunch afterwards.
