Fight MND Charity Golf Day

More than 80 golfers were in attendance on the day.

THE second annual FightMND Charity Golf Day did not disappoint, with a full field of players on Friday last week helping to raises thousands of dollars for the fight against motor neurone disease (MND).

Again led by Portarlington’s Team Monica Hayes – Geoff Fary, Darren Hellmann, Greg Hughes and Mick Doyle – the event at Portarlington Golf Day saw a Geelong Cats player featured as the special guest.

“The event went exceptionally well, it was very well-attended, and we had Mitch Duncan along as the special guest to talk all things footy and golf,” Mr Fary said.

The annual FightMND Charity Golf Day was again held at Portarlington Golf Club.

“In total, we raised more than $4,000 towards FightMND, which we’re exceptionally proud of, and to do it in only the second year of this event for Team Monica Hayes is just a fantastic effort by all those who attended on the day.”

Following the four-person Ambrose golf portion of the day, event MC Max Becker hosted the lunch proceedings while interviewing Duncan.

More than 80 players attended Friday’s event, which the team was pleased with.
