Golf lovers have range of options

The Range @ Curlewis opened last weekend to the delight of local and visiting golf enthusiasts.

Located one kilometre from the existing Curlewis Golf Club, The Range @ Curlewis offers golfers 18 indoor and outdoor driving bays, nine of which features pop up automated tee systems, fun targets indicating distance (total length is just over 250 metres) and two XGolf Simulators to name only a few aspects of the news development.

Lyndsay Sharp from the Curlewis Golf Club said the response from club members and the public had been terrific over the weekend.

“It was all very positive from members, there is nothing like it in Victoria and we hope it will put Curlewis Golf Club well and truly on the map,” she said.

“Once the 30-metre-high nets went up, heads really started to turn and people realised this was not your ordinary driving range facility under construction.

“It has taken around two years of planning and eight months to construct The Range but we’re all proud of what we’ve achieved. Thanks to a lot of work by many people in the Curlewis team, Curlewis is officially the fastest growing golf club in Australia.

“Builder David McDonald and his team, as well as our legendary project manager Kevin Mullins worked around the clock to ensure this happened; they’re amazing.”

The existing clubhouse will continue to be the central hub of Curlewis Golf Club – the pro shop will remain there, green fee players will register there, golfers will start their 18 holes from just outside the club house and putting green area.

The clubhouse will also remain as a popular contemporary dining facility with great lunches daily and top Bistro dining Friday and Saturday nights. The Range @ Curlewis will offer a broad range of share concept meals and snacks, including breakfast daily.

The facility will also feature an extensive list of healthy juices, smoothies, coffee, beers, wines and cocktails.
