Grant pitch lands cricket club big win
OCEAN Grove Cricket Club has enjoyed a bumper season after receiving an Ocean Grove Connected Communities grant worth $5,700.
The club will use the funds to buy two roll-out pitches, providing a great boost to junior and girls’ cricket.
In other recent grants presentations, Ocean Grove Nature Reserve received $1000 to help raise awareness of the need to protect wallabies and will run a competition to develop a wallaby mascot.
Bellarine Bears Baseball Club also picked up a $2000 grant to buy a grass line marking machine.
It’s been a huge year for Ocean Grove Connected Communities, with lots of great projects underway thanks to the support from its grants program.
Meanwhile, if you have got a worthy project that needs a helping hand, apply now.
You must be a local community group – from Ocean Grove, Wallington, Collendina and Marcus Hill, or regional with local impact – and a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation.
Applications for grants will be considered up to $5000 and the closing date for this round of grants is March 9.
