LOCAL real estate agent and Hayeswinckle founder Daniel Hayes will fire up his Harley Davidson this Sunday, January 14 to lead the Million Dollar Bogan Lifeline Ride for a fourth straight year.

More than 1,000 people are slated to ride from the southbound BP service station in Lovely Banks to Apollo Bay to raise awareness of suicide and mental health.

The Million Dollar Bogan Lifeline Ride was born out of the tragic passing of Mr Hayes brother James, who battled mental health and drug abuse.

Using his real estate platform and strong social media audience of more than 300,000 followers, Mr Hayes started the ride with the hope it could help to empower Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope.

Mr Hayes said his excitement was high heading into the weekend’s ride.

“We can’t wait to get out there on the bikes and raise money an organisation who do so much in the mental health and suicide space.

“All our funds will hopefully mean their dedicated volunteers can help those struggling to get the help they need, and in some instances, save their life.

“Suicide has a ripple effect and transfers the pain. Generally, it’s a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

“I’m proud to be continuing to do something to really help in this space.”

Mr Hayes will be auctioning off some of his memorabilia from his Bolivian Death Road ride.

Mr Hayes said his $50,000 fundraising goal was well on track to being smashed out of the park.

“We’ve already raised over $20,000 on the GoFundMe, which is just an amazing result, particularly before anyone has even paid their $20 ride fee or participated in the auctions.

“We have a brand-new HD X350 Harley Davidson to auction off as well as some of my special memorabilia from my ride from Los Angeles and through the Bolivian Death Road.

“Any other donations or auction items are still welcomed.”

Riders should meet at 7.30am sharp.
