Henderson presents flag to Bellarine Lakes

AN AUSTRALIAN flag will fly with pride over Bellarine Lakes Country Club following a presentation ceremony last week.

Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson visited the Moolap village on Friday to present the flag to managers Mark and Tanya Prebble, and excited residents.

“I’m here to present our wonderful national flag on behalf of the Australian Government,” Ms Henderson said.

“It’s lovely to be able to hold it up because it always looks very special, and as I say to the Grade 5s when I do this at schools: you are not allowed to touch the floor with the flag!”

Ms Henderson said: “May this fly with great pride over your magnificent home, and it is a magnificent home; it’s so beautiful here”.

The flag presentation was followed by the national anthem, which was sung by residents, then afternoon tea and a Q&A session.
