Herbalife Nutrition Foundation Bike Ride to start in Torquay
THIS Saturday (January 11) will see the annual Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF) Bike Ride start rolling in Torquay as cyclists begin their six-day journey to Adelaide.
All the funds raised from the 840-kilometre ride – now in its seventh year – go to HNF, a not-for-profit organisation that provides programs offering access to education and healthy nutrition for young people.
HNF supports various groups including the Infants’ Home in Sydney and Lighthouse Foundation in Melbourne.
Lynnet-Ann Walker, who is taking part for the third time, said the ride was challenging but gratifying.
“When you visit the different charity partners and see what the fundraising does and how grateful every member of each community is, that’s what makes every single kilometre we spin through and every incline and peak we climb worth it.
Since it started in 2014, the ride has raised $440,000 for the foundation.
More than 50 cyclists and crew from Herbalife will be participating in the ride.
Herbalife Nutrition Australia and New Zealand’s general manager Peter Hurley said he was grateful for the dedication of the members.
that promise.”
